Sample images
Some of the photos from Hammersmith Bridge were taken directly into the
sun ('contre jour'). The proofs may look dark because there isn't time to adjust
them all individually. Once adjusted, the strong backlighting adds a somewhat ethereal quality to
colour photos, but also makes for spectacular black-and-white prints especially
where there are strong highlights reflected from the water.
Digital images are available in small (1200 x 800 pixels),
medium (1800 x 1200 pixels), or large (3000 x 2000 pixels)
JPG format with 4:1 compression. The samples below are
small (1200 x 800 pixels; ~ 0.5 MB in size). Each opens in
a separate window.
